1929: ELISABETH GISCH Mrs. John Gisch Dies on Friday Never fully recovered from injury to her spine sustained in a fall this spring at her home in Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. John Gisch, mother of Mrs. Arno Vogel of this city, died at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan early Friday morning of last week. She had reached the age of 64 years. The deceased, nee Elizabeth Williams, was born May 11, 1865 at St. Anna. She was married March 6, 1881 to John Gisch, the couple then making their home here in Kiel for a short time. Leaving Kiel, they moved to Chilton, residing there for about twenty years, after which time they returned to Kiel, living here for about sixteen years. At the end of that time they (clipping ends) - 1929

1948: John Gisch Is Summoned John Gisch, aged 86 years, passed away Tuesday morning in Milwaukee at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Edgar Wesling. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church at two o'clock, and burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. Mr. Gisch was born in Charlestown Mar. 3, 1862, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gisch. He lived and attended school near New Holstein. Mar. 6, 1881 he was married to Elizabeth Williams of St. Anna and the couple resided in Kiel, and later on a farm near Chilton. Survivors are four daughter; Mrs. John Michaels of Chilton, Mrs. Arno Vogel of this city, Mrs. Edgar Wesling of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Carl Aistroup of Britton, S.D. His wife preceded him in death in 1929, and a daughter also has passed away. Other survivors are 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Rev. E. L. Worthman will officiate at the services. The body will lie in state at the Meiselwitz Funeral home from one o'clock Thursday until 11 o'clock Friday, when body will be removed to the church. - 1948
