Sheboygan Press Monday June 20, 1949 Anton Wettstein 74, of Kiel, died late Saturday afternoon at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan. He was born on July 27, 1874, the son of Adrian and Catherine Mauer Wettstein at Marytown. In November of 1897 he was married to Mary Krause. She died in 1913 and in October of 1914 he was married to Susanna Williams Drews. Mr. Wettstein worked as a mason for many years and later operated taverns in New Holstein and Kiel prior to his retirement in 1944. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church at Kiel. The survivors include: three sons, Jerome of Milwaukee, Loyal of Kiel and Leroy of New Holstein; four daughters, Mrs. George (Adeline) Stieber of Sheboygan, Mrs. Roland (Sylonia) Brennen of Manitowoc, Mrs. Clarence (Lucille) Schwarz of New Holstein and Mrs. Henry (Aurelia) Schmidt of Kiel; one step-son, Raymond Drews of Kiel; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Schuette of New Holstein, Mrs. Arthur Manz of Kiel and Mrs. Gertrude Arenz of Fond du Lac; six brothers, Frank of Fairmont, N. D.; Edward, Matt and Andrew of Eden; Michael and Jake of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by a son, Sylvester, and two brothers, John and Stephen. Funeral Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home and at 9:30 o'clock at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church with the Rev. Father F. X. Khiel officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
