Linda Ann Socha-Ovel, 52, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, De c. 19, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a brief ill ness. Linda was born Sept. 1, 1954, in Wausau, the daughter of Lawrence a nd Cora Socha. She graduated from Neenah High School and attended the Univ ersity of Wisconsin-Stout. As a young lady, she loved to snow ski and work ed at a ski resort in Vermont. She was later employed by Seifert's Women 's Apparel and the Penny Saver. She married G. Scott Ovel on Aug. 30, 199 6, in Reno, Nev.
She and her husband, Scott, founded National Flag and Flagpole Co. in 200 0. Linda and Scott had an incredibly close relationship and never ever spe nt an evening apart for more than their 10 years in marriage. Linda dear ly loved animals, and especially movies about animals including "Sea Biscu it" and "March of the Penguins"; however, she most dearly loved her fami ly and close friends, and the Green Bay Packers.
Linda is survived by her husband, G. Scott Ovel of Cedar Rapids; her pare nts, Lawrence and Cora (Meyer) Socha of Neenah; a stepson, Zach Ovel and w ife Elisa of Cedar Rapids; a stepdaughter, Stacey Crist and husband Mit ch of Cedar Rapids; and three stepgrandchildren, Tylamin, Chloe and Joslyn n. She is also blessed with 60 first cousins and love of her beloved
